All 353 pets ranked from S to D — abilities, XP rates, and trade values. Summer Camp Event pets added June 2026.
The current S-Tier picks dominate due to mutation-applying abilities, XP multipliers, or rare passive effects.
| Pet | Tier | Rarity | Key Ability | Source | Mutation Applied |

Pets generate XP passively when placed in your garden. XP rate depends on rarity — higher rarity pets generate more XP per second. Pets age as they accumulate XP, with Age 50 being a common milestone and Age 162 unlocking special mutation bonuses.
Certain pets specifically boost other pets' XP: Hootsie Roll grants bonus XP to all Easter-type pets and all pets in your garden. Night Owl boosts XP of active pets. Capybara prevents hunger drain and increases XP. Albino Peacock advances nearby pets' abilities.
Pets have a hunger stat that depletes over time. Hungry pets generate less XP and may stop applying mutations. Check hunger regularly on high-value pets like Disco Bee (50,000 hunger). The Capybara pet permanently prevents hunger drain for your lineup.
Key pet ages: Age 5 — first ability unlock. Age 10 — weight class upgrade. Age 50 — major ability bonus. Age 162 — mutation unlock trigger (rarest pets only). Multiple pets of the same type stack their abilities.
Where to get eggs and what pets they drop. Drop rates vary by egg rarity tier.
Yes — multiple copies of the same pet stack their abilities. This is especially powerful for mutation-applying pets and XP boosters. Running two Butterflies doubles the Pollinated mutation trigger rate, for example. Plan your loadout around stacking 2–3 of your best pets.
Start with Starfish, Moon Cat, or Pack Bee. These are easier to obtain from common egg sources and provide consistent farming utility without requiring advanced strategies. Once you have 10+ million Sheckles, upgrade to Legendary or Mythical tier pets for significantly better returns.
The meta as of June 2026 is Kitsune + Raccoon + Disco Bee for maximum mutation application and passive income. For XP-focused builds, run Hootsie Roll + Night Owl + Albino Peacock to maximize leveling speed for your other pets. For mutation farming, Kitsune + Dragonfly + Disco Bee is a strong alternative.
Kitsune is obtainable from the Kitsune Egg during event windows. It is a Divine-tier pet with a very low drop rate. Between events, it is only available via trading with other players at a significant Sheckle cost. The Corrupt Kitsune variant has an even lower drop rate but enables the Harmonised Foxfire Chakra combination (190×).
The Godly classification in Grow a Garden refers to pets that have reached the highest weight class through XP leveling. A Godly-class pet has a stronger ability multiplier than the same pet at a lower weight class. All pets can technically become Godly if leveled enough, but high-rarity pets reach the Godly threshold faster.
